International Study Programme In Institute of Finance and International Management

IFIM Business School has inked several MoUs with leading Global Networks. Under the terms of the proposed MoU, the Global Network will plan, schedule and organize an ISP to a specific country. Under this program our students have visited Germany, China (Beijing/Shanghai), Vietnam, France, Singapore, Malaysia etc. The ISP will comprise of visits to leading educational Institutions, MNCs, participation in a sponsored cultural and social events apart from local sightseeing trips. The program shall be faculty-led and comprises of University lectures, company visits and presentations. In effect, the field visits shall be invariably supplemented by academic inputs and corporate interactions.

The ISP presents a whole spectrum of Academic, Research and Internship opportunities – from developing cross-cultural sensitivities, professional networking, exposure to best-in-class business practices to converting these into research cases and the like.

Focus of ISP:

  • Acquire robust global functional and business perspectives
  • Acquire cross-cultural skills
  • Get into a ‘super-specialization’ (thesis) mode into a ‘vertical’

The Institute may assign appropriate academic credits for onsite studies and visits carried out in MNCs and in association with Faculty Mentors, explore the possibility of converting these into case studies, term papers, research papers, projects and assignments. Student participants under this program will be exposed to the local culture, interactions with the captains of industry and get to carry out specific live projects and assignments.

Tryst with Malaysia and Singapore- ISP – Batch 2009 – 11

In April 2010, the students of PGDM – IB batch 2009 -11 underwent a one week ISP in Malaysia and Singapore. They carried out in-depth and detailed factory visits in Malaysia, visited the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory and the Petronas Twin Towers.

After this, they carried out an International Immersion Program (equivalent to one credit, 10 hours of business sessions by experts) at the Sunway University College of Malaysia, on various topics such as General Management & Strategy, Human Resource Management, Project Management, Customer Relationship Management, Knowledge Management etc.
We had the opportunity to learn many things: marketing strategies, retail techniques, culture and hospitality from both Singapore and Malaysia. We also happened to get an insight into an MNC’s style of working.
