Duration : 3 years (6 Semesters)
MCA is a three year program and was established in the year 1997 with a sanctioned student intake of 15. The current intake of the program is 60. The program is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Bangalore University.
The educational objectives of the MCA program at AIMS is to enable the students have a holistic and all round grooming to be a thorough professional in the field of IT. The students are trained to have a sound foundation in the fundamentals of computer technology, a high level of practical skill in the use of that technology and at the same time, be sensitive to the issues prevailing in the society. The Alumni of the department are all well placed in top positions of the major IT companies in India and abroad.
The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members to handle the various subjects of the Master’s program. The department is ably headed by Dr. Sudeshna Das Gupta, a Post Doctorate in C.Sc. The department has produced 2 University Ranks and on an average, 90% of the students pass out with Distinction every year.

MCA – NON Karnataka    
- 50% aggregate & Above in Graduation

Programme Highlights
The vision of imparting excellent higher education is transformed into  reality at AIMS by building up a conducive academic atmosphere on its  campus. The highlights are :
-  AIMS – Department of MCA has signed up with Microsoft under its MSDN  Academic Alliance program. With this alliance, the college receives  every Microsoft Software product for use by the students. The students  are encouraged to carry out their academic projects using these tools
 
- AIMS – Department of MCA is an institutional member of the  Computer Society of India - CSI. There is also a CSI student chapter of  which every faculty and student is a member and through which various  events are organized. Every student also receives a CSI Magazine every  month as a part of this subscription
 
- AIMS – Department of MCA has associations / MOU’s with NGOs like Mitrajyothi and students are involved in developing automation systems for them
Other Highlights
- The IT inter-collegiate fest – Infinix, organized by the  department every year is a high profile event and attracts students from  all colleges both from Bangalore and outside
 
- The IT Club plans and executes a number of activities, both  curricular and non-curricular, through which the students learn a number  of skills like team interaction, planning and managing events,  leadership skills, etc.      
 
- Strong Industry Institute interaction in the form of Guest  Lectures by top technical and HR personnel, Industrial Visits, Workshops  and Seminars      
 
- Support to participate in Inter-collegiate Technical and Cultural Activities. Industrial Visits to IT Companies every Semester. 80% of the students pass out with Distinction and the remaining with high First Class.
