Introduction about Bangalore University:
The Bangalore University, Bangalore was established in Bangalore City as a subsidiary of Mysore University in 1964. The university was started so as to in these subjects.include institutions of higher education located in the Bangalore city, rural Bangalore and Kolar districts. Since its start university is engaged in offering postgraduate courses and conduct research programs through different departments and faculties. The university started offering Honors courses in 1965. Three years honors programs for undergraduate students in Botany, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geology, Kannada, Mathematics and Zoology attracted brilliant students.
The Bangalore University has grown manifold in terms of size and strength. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has bestowed Affiliating Rights to Bangalore University. The university has provided affiliation to many numbers of colleges and PG Research centers. Many numbers of programs and courses are offered through various faculties, affiliated colleges and research centers. The university mainly caters educational needs of students residing in Bangalore and Karnataka, but opens its doors to all Indian nationals and foreign students.
