Rules for the Students In East West Instutute Of Technology

Students are required to observe discipline and follow norms in every matter of the College academic and administration. Good conduct and academic excellence are the watchwords of the institution.

Registration

  • First day of every semester will be called as "registration day". On registration day following activities will be done.
    • Every student has to fill registration form.
    • Submit three self addressed envelopes with (Rs. 5 stamp and 1 passport size photograph) Father & Mother photograph
    • Submit Xerox copy of the fee receipt.
    • Fill all details on the blue books.
    • Collect stationeries required for the semester.
    • Submit application for the duplicate ID if required.
    • Fill in application for Library ID (only in odd semester).
    • Collect calendar of events/assignments and portions for the three internal tests.
  • Classes for first semester will start from 06.09.2010.
  • All students are advised to attend the classes from day one failing which
    • They will have to pay a penalty of Rs. .../day until they start attending the classes.
    • They will have to bring their parents to get permission to attend the classes.

Attendance

Students must attend their classes regularly. According to the VTU rules, students must have 85% attendance or above in each subject for being eligible to appear in University Examinations. A student having shortage of attendance even in one subject will be detained without any consideration and will not be allowed for appearing the University Examination as per VTU Rule. No appeal in this regard will be entertained.

Discipline

Special care is taken to maintain all round discipline in the College. Self-discipline is the best discipline. All the students are required to maintain discipline in the College. In case of violation of any rule of discipline by any student, disciplinary action will be taken as per the college rules. The Principal of the College, assisted by Heads of the departments and the Faculty, shall have the authority to exercise all such disciplinary powers over students in the College, as may be necessary for the proper functioning of the Institution. Playing Holi and Celebrating Diwali inside the college premises is strictly prohibited. Disciplinary action will be taken against any student found guilty of violating this rule.

Prohibition of ragging

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the college premises or any other part of the Campus as well as on, college transport. Any individual or collective act or practice of ragging constitutes gross indiscipline and shall be dealt with under Government Ordinance.

Tours and Picnics

Students are also required to note that whenever College arranges official tours, picnics, etc., a 'No objection Certificate' from the parents of students will be taken and teachers will accompany them. In case the students go for hiking/tours/picnics organized by Private groups or unofficially on their own, the College will not bear responsibility for any mishap and the students will go at their own risk.

Identity Card

Every student is given an Identity Card. All students should wear ID card compulsorily inside the campus, failing which they will not be allowed inside the campus. This card must be produced as and when required. Disciplinary action may be taken on his/her failure to do so. If the Identity Card is lost, a duplicate must be obtained on payment of Rs. 100.00

Notice board

All important notices concerning various activities are put up on the Notice Board. Students are required to read the Notice Board every day. The internal test marks and attendance percentage will be put up in the notice board within seven days after the test.

Fees

All students have to pay dues if any, before the commencement of the semester, failing which they will not be admitted to the classes.

Mobile Phones

Bringing mobile phones to the college campus is strictly prohibited. If the student is found with mobile phone in the campus it will be confiscated and will be returned back after the student pays a fine of Rs. 500/- for the first time. If the student is caught second time with mobile in the campus then the mobile will not be returned back after confiscation.

Tests

Student should write all three tests compulsorily. No additional test will be given at any cost. Students found committing Malpractice in theory and lab internal test will get zero in the internal test for that particular subject. Such students will have to give an apology letter from the parents and a fine of Rs.1000/- will be charged.

Code of conduct

  • Identity and Library cards should be carried to College every day.
  • Follow dress code strictly.
  • Attend lecture classes, tutorials, Laboratory classes and extra-curricular activities regularly
  • Do not bring mobile phones to the college
  • Switch off lights and fans before vacating the classroom
  • Use Library, Common Room, or Canteen during free time to avoid disturbing classes
  • Observe self-discipline, cleanliness and punctuality
  • Do not use unfair means during Examinations
  • Do not write anything on desks, walls and boards.
