Life At The Institute of Finance and International Management

The life at IFIM Business School Campus is a fine balance of fun and study. The vibrant Campus life affects the after class and quality of living experience significantly. Their advice to all ‘incoming students’ is: learn the fine art of getting settled, managing the academic curriculum and then plunge into extra/co-curricular activities. The best guide is your Faculty Mentor assigned by the Principal Mentor, who has rich experience in this regard.

The environment and culture of IFIM Business School is geared to handle students with:
  • Dramatically different beliefs and philosophies.
  • Widely divergent expectations.
  • A high focus on academics, conservative and middle of the road approach to cultural activities.
  • Different personalities and orientations.
    An adventuresome spirit.
Under the overall guidance, supervision & mentorship of the Principal Mentor and Chairperson (Student Affairs), the extra/co- curricular activities are designed, structured, aligned to and integrated with the academic framework. The level of independence associated with the conduct of the extra/co-curricular activities is quite amazing. But at times, the whole excitement of being independent can be dampened by an overwhelming sense of ownership & responsibility (let us gently remind ourselves that students are under training).

Each of the programmes & activities have a specific timeline, learning objectives, desirable and measurable outcomes, ensures high student participation and requires oodles of creative energy round the year. The events are successful, students are happy and the learning’s quite diverse: expect the unexpected, learn about the stages of cultural adjustment, managerial skills, language proficiency and the like.

Students at IFIM Business School enjoy themselves, are helped to adjust socially and this collectively impacts their overall academic performance positively. There are plenty of stress busters and culture shock relievers on Campus to get away from the mundane academic routine. Hobby societies, volunteer services, gymnasium, swimming pool, intra/extra mural sports are some of them.

The Campus is spread over 2 acres of land and the infrastructure consists of a computer lab, an integrated WiFi enabled campus, student activity areas such as a lounge and snack bar, 24 classrooms of varying seating capacities, three conference halls exclusively for Executive Development Programmes, a centrally air-conditioned auditorium, an amphi-theatre, Placement office, Admissions office and an Administration department.

Garden City College Hostel

For many of us our home is the sweetest spot on the earth as we can completely be ourselves and enjoy the warmth within the four walls of this place. In case of students, the jitters are more perhaps due to moving away from their homes for the first time. GCC's basket of Hostels addresses this insecurity by completely understanding the fears of the students and parents.
GCC has taken sincere efforts to bring the best of facilities to their hostellers. One of the most important things that every hostel should have is private lockers. Each student has the provision for storing valuables in their individual lockers. Besides, there is medical help and counsellors on call, saloons, internet stations, convenience stores, pharmacy kiosks, multi-activity playing grounds and a fleet of buses connecting the city. Security at the hostel campus is tight. ATMs are available for quick access to cash. The Hostels here cater to the needs of students, both in terms of boarding & lodging. Laundry facilities are available. Hot water is available since Bangalore is comparatively low on temperatures most of the year.

Why MBA?

Current worldly state stresses the importance of higher education though we had achieved certain success careerwise. One of the most recognized degree is MBA, which stands for Master of Business Administration. It has been one of the most extensively pursued master's degree across the globe. Usually, it has been now labelled as a 'preferred' qualification or as a requirement now in work resume.

The successful MBA foundation is phenomenal as its curriculum consists of finance, marketing, statistics, etc. and that make a successful candidate to be included in the preferred category. It is because they have the ability to think broadly about business decisions, switch forth and are free to adapt to different needs and environments.
Through MBA filtering process, the best students with the best reputation can be selected from a pool of candidates. Of course, that means candidates with a high record of excellence and achievement is highly favoured and most likely to be recruited. With the degree, we can too, conclude about the drive of the person that holds it. Sometimes, they are the full-time working professional who are willing to spend their time to pursue their higher education. It's such an accomplishment to manage both career and education swiftly.

MBA also teaches us issues about how we can build up a successful portfolio of business knowledge, skills and network of colleagues and MBA alumni. Identification of business problems can be addressed and analyzed more consistently. Communication skills in individual and teamwork aspects can be strengthening in the long run. People management skills can be mastered as usually the person who deals with the customers mostly influences the business deal. First impression leaves an everlasting impression.

It is said that the degree is a must as it guarantees professional qualification, which is a demand of the industry. If you are a successful holder, it does give the eligibility and also means that you have obtained the theoretical base for building the practical achievements. It also could be the way to change your career path and set up your own business.

Research has shown that the failure rate for small businesses started by an MBA is about 50 percent less than the standard failure rate.
No matter what the importance is, approach the studies with an open mindset and correct attitude and it can develop oneself into full capacity. So Go Ahead and Empower Yourself.

Creating Dreamers Achievers & Winners

Education primarily moulds human character, leading to quantum changes in his quality of thinking.  This changed entity is better placed to successfully relate to co-habitants of the medium that he is a part of.  Thus, education is a task that needs to be handled with care, as it is a process that defines an entire gamut of generations to come and is a herald to the ‘not so distant future’.
Epitome of Success
Few years back, a well educated, highly determined and self-motivated individual gave serious thought to this task and decided to put his thoughts into action. That was the beginning of Garden City College.
Dr. Joseph V. G., Chairman - Garden City Group of Institutions, insisted on shaping GCC into an institution that instills in every young mind, who has spent a few years at GCC, all ingredients that make him/her a success in every facet of life.
The institution has, in the past decade, brought about innovations that strengthen and build an ambience for learning. GCC has always striven to stand apart, and be counted among the trend-setters in the field of education in the country. At GCC, no stone is left unturned in ensuring that quality education is imparted with passion.
As the young ones take their stride along this journey of life, we can only hold their hands and be a facilitator in their journey to success. As they march along the present, we appraise them of the possibilities that the future holds. We inspire them to aim higher and imbibe in them the skill to capture their dreams.
VISION
To be an institution that will offer affordable world-class education to all classes of students in order to uplift the society we serve, by nurturing human values and ethics and by imparting knowledge, which emphasizes on life skills.

East West Instutute Of Technology (Ewit)

Various Educational Institutions in the fraternity of East West Group of Institutions
(EWGI), the time tested and trusted 42 years old group, have been catering to educational needs of students from kindergarten to various graduate and postgraduate level. EAST WEST INSTUTUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (EWIT), the fairly young and yet the proud limb of EWGI, which took birth in the year 2001, snatches the limelight as a marvel
for its reputation in the realm of technological education.

The sole intent of EWIT has been to provide quality professional / technical education on par with the best technical institutions in the country and elsewhere. It is apt to insert here what the Founder Chairman, Late Sri C M NAGARAJ, had to say proudly on his ambitious EWIT, a few days before his passing away: “….. I am consciously aware that there are nearly 170 Engineering Colleges in Karnataka which are affiliated to the famed Visvesvaraya Technological University and that this number is increasing each year. A vast majority of these colleges are fairly young and are situated in and around Bangalore. They are vying to reach the top of the table to attract the best brains at the admission stage. EWIT is one of my prime dream projects. I know if it has to survive the competition and sustain at the top of the table it is possible only through superior infra-structure, highly qualified and dedicated teachers and an administration adhering to ‘Discipline, Dedication and Determination’.
